In a new achievement for athletics, Bahraini runner Winfred Yafi shone in the women's 3,000m steeplechase at the 2025 Diamond League in Eugene, USA, achieving a well-deserved victory with a time of 8:45.25.
This time is the best this season (WL) and also a new meeting record (MR), reflecting Yafi's outstanding performance, which has once again proven her strong presence on the international stage.
Kenya's Faith Cherutich came in second with a time of 8:48.71, achieving a personal best, while Uganda's Biruth Chemutai finished third with a time of 8:51.78, her best performance this season.
The race featured elite international runners and was characterized by a high level of competition. However, Yafi dominated from the start and succeeded in strengthening her lead in the final laps to secure a deserved first place.
