Our national athletics team is departing for Malaysia to hold a training camp from September 10 to 21. This camp is part of the preparation program for the 2026 Asian Games, which will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The preparatory camp reflects the Bahrain Athletics Association's commitment to providing optimal preparation conditions for the national team and enhancing the technical and physical readiness of the athletes ahead of the Asian competition.

The camp features an intensive training program supervised by the technical staff, aimed at ensuring the athletes reach peak readiness and continue their preparations effectively for the Asian Games—one of the continent's most prominent and significant sporting events.

The national athletics team aims to deliver outstanding performances in Aichi-Nagoya and continue the proud legacy of Bahraini athletics in continental and international arenas; athletics has historically been the cornerstone and primary source of Bahrain's impressive medal tallies in previous editions of the Games.

The Kingdom’s best performance to date was achieved at the most recent Asian Games in Hangzhou, where it secured 20 medals (including 12 gold). The majority of these medals—16 in total, including 10 gold—were won in athletics events, placing Bahrain at the forefront of Arab nations and ninth in the overall continental rankings.
