Olympic champion Salwa Eid Nasser set an Arab and Asian record in the women's 300m race, finishing second with a time of 35.85 seconds, during the Continental Bronze Medal Round of the Athletics Meet in Bialystok, Poland, on Saturday evening, August 9, 2025.
The previous Arab record was held by Egyptian champion Basant Hemeida, with a time of 36.66 seconds, achieved at the meet in Poland on August 31, 2024. The Asian record was held by Uzbek champion Maria Shmonyina, with a time of 36.87 seconds, achieved at the Moscow meet in Russia on January 26, 1992.
Olympic champion Salwa Eid Nasser finished second, becoming the second Arab runner to break the 36-second barrier in the 300m race with a time of 35.94 seconds, stripping Egyptian runner Basant Hemeida of the Arab record.
Polish runner Natalia BUKOWIECKA won the race with a time of 35.51 seconds, while Egyptian runner Basant Hemeida finished third with a time of 35.94 seconds.
