His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, extended his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect him, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, on the victory of runner Winfried Yafi, who won second place and the silver medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase race, and runner Salwa Eid Nasser, who won third place and the bronze medal in the women's 400m race at the IAAF World Athletics Championships held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
Mr. Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal also congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
He emphasized that this global achievement is an embodiment of the generous patronage the sports sector receives from His Majesty the King, may God protect him, the support of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, the interest of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the backing of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Bin Jalal added, "We are proud of this global achievement, which has placed the Kingdom of Bahrain in first place in the Arab world with merit and competence. This reflects the prestigious status of the Mother of All Sports, the consistent level of our champions, both male and female, and their commitment to honorable representation."
Mr. Mohammed Abdullatif Bin Jalal emphasized that this global victory reflects the fruits of sound planning and the great efforts exerted by the Federation's Board of Directors and the work carried out by the technical and administrative staff. He praised the achievements of the two runners, Winifred Yafi and Salwa Eid, who have continued their journey of excellence in the international athletics arena with merit and competence, emphasizing the Federation's commitment to continuing to raise Bahrain's flag high in all international sporting events.
