At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Bahrain sent a delegation of 14 athletes across several sports, of which 8 competed in athletics (1 man and 7 women).

By the end of the Games, Bahrain achieved its best Olympic-ever outcome in terms of overall result: finishing 33rd globally, and leading among Arab and Gulf nations.

Out of the four medals Bahrain won overall, two golds, one silver, and one bronze, two were in athletics — underlining the continued importance of track & field for the Kingdom.

Records Set

New Olympic Record

In a time of 8:52.76, Winfred Yavi secured gold in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase final on August 6, 2024, setting a new Olympic record.

Time Record

With a time of 48.53 seconds, Salwa Eid Naser earned a silver in the Women’s 400m. This remarkable performance stands out as one of the fastest 400m times recorded globally that year and marks a significant sprint for Bahrain in an Olympic final.

Ranking

Bahrain ranked 33rd overall on the Olympic medal table and was the Top Arab Nation at Paris 2024 thanks to these performances combined with medals in other sports.
